Signature landscape feature for a hospitality environment

The hotel aimed to create a distinctive landscape landmark that would become a recognizable feature of the property.
The site included a steep slope supported by a high retaining wall. Instead of hiding this engineering element, the design transformed the terrain into a three-level waterfall landscape that visitors can explore while moving through the space.
The site included a steep slope supported by a high retaining wall. Instead of hiding this engineering element, the design transformed the terrain into a three-level waterfall landscape that visitors can explore while moving through the space.
The main idea was to turn the waterfall into a walkable landscape experience rather than a purely decorative feature.
Instead of observing the waterfall from one point, visitors move through the landscape along a gently rising serpentine path. As they walk upward, the perception of water, space, and views continuously changes. Each level offers a different way to experience the landscape.

The journey begins at the lower level where a calm lake reflects the main waterfall.
This area was designed as a quiet viewing zone where visitors can sit, observe the water, and interact with the landscape. The shallow shoreline creates natural pockets where fish gather, making them visible and bringing an interactive element to the experience.

Swans and aquatic life add movement and atmosphere, turning the lake into a living part of the landscape.

As visitors follow the serpentine path upward, they reach the second level where the landscape becomes more immersive
Here the waterfall forms a grotto where people can walk beneath the falling water. Standing inside the grotto allows visitors to feel the power of the water while still remaining within the protected rock structure. From this level, the lower waterfall can also be seen from above, revealing a completely new perspective of the landscape.

The path continues to the highest point of the waterfall structure.
At this level, the waterfall transforms into a sculptural composition with open rock formations and flowing water elements. From here visitors can look through the structure and observe the hotel and surrounding landscape from above, creating a dramatic panoramic viewpoint.

The upper structure also visually completes the composition of the waterfall, adding vertical emphasis and making the landscape feature visible from a distance.
The project became a signature landscape element for the hotel, combining visual impact with an interactive visitor experience.
Rather than functioning as a static decorative feature, the waterfall landscape invites guests to move through space, discover new viewpoints, and experience water at different scales and distances. The result is a landscape that works both as a landmark and as a memorable spatial journey.
