A large-scale naturalistic water feature designed as the central element of a private forest landscape.

The lake was conceived not as a decorative addition, but as a spatial framework for the entire garden — an element that defines movement, focal points, and the way the space is experienced. Its form and shoreline were carefully shaped to appear natural, as if the water body had always belonged to this landscape.
The shoreline is built using layered stone compositions with integrated planting pockets.
Groundcovers and moisture-loving species are embedded directly into the structure, softening the edges and creating a seamless transition between water, stone and vegetation. Over time, this approach allows the landscape to mature and become even more convincing.

A large waterfall is integrated into the terrain, forming a continuous water movement across multiple levels
It is designed not as a single visual feature, but as a system — experienced through sound, reflection and changing perspectives as one moves through the garden.

One of the key spatial elements is a sculptural grotto positioned at the far edge of the lake.

It acts as a destination point within the composition — a place that draws movement across the site. The grotto is fully accessible, allowing passage through it and offering a unique experience of the landscape from within.
From inside, the water can be observed through the falling stream, creating a layered visual effect where architecture, water and landscape merge. This moment becomes one of the most intimate and atmospheric parts of the project.

The pathways are designed to guide movement around the lake, revealing the composition gradually — from open panoramic views to more enclosed, chamber scenes.
Each turn creates a slightly different perception of scale, depth and water. Beyond its visual and spatial qualities, the lake is designed for real use. It accommodates swimming, informal fishing and gathering, becoming a natural center for both quiet everyday moments and social interaction.
The result is a landscape that operates on multiple levels — as an architectural composition, as a living natural system, and as a place that reshapes how the space is experienced over time.
